Rahul Gandhi Supreme Court March Today: 6 Delhi Metro Stations Shut

Rahul Gandhi will lead the INDIA bloc march to the Supreme Court on Monday, 12 October 2026. The Congress has named the protest “Chalo Delhi – March for Democracy.”

Leaders will gather at the Connaught Place–Barakhamba Road junction at 1:30 p.m., then walk toward the court. Mr. Gandhi has asked opposition parties, civil society groups, and young people to join. He said the march is for Indians “united beyond party, gender, caste, community and state.”

The opposition has three demands. It wants an end to what it calls “vote chori.” It wants the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls stopped. It also wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign. These are allegations. The reports used here do not say the Election Commission has accepted them.

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant will not meet the leaders today. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge had asked for a slot between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to hand over a memorandum. The CJI’s office told The Hindu the request was “declined with reasons.” He asked them to file a petition, because the matter is already before the court.

Six Delhi Metro stations have no entry or exit from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, and Barakhamba Road. Police have tightened security around Janpath.

The march follows days of protest. On 6 October, INDIA bloc leaders walked from Parliament to the Election Commission. Several leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, were detained. The bloc has also given a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu.

The 1:30 p.m. march had not started when these reports were filed. Watch whether it reaches the Supreme Court, and whether the opposition files a petition after the Chief Justice refused a meeting.
