The Ministry of AYUSH has signed a partnership with IndiaAI — the government's national AI initiative — to integrate artificial intelligence into traditional medicine research and healthcare delivery.

The collaboration aims to use AI tools for drug discovery in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy systems, improve diagnostic accuracy, digitise traditional medical texts, and build predictive health models using AYUSH treatment data.

Why This Matters

India's traditional medicine systems hold vast amounts of clinical data accumulated over centuries — but most of it remains undigitised and unstructured. AI can process this data at a scale no human team can match, potentially identifying patterns, drug interactions, and treatment outcomes that have been invisible until now.

The partnership fits into the broader Digital India and IndiaAI Mission framework, which aims to build indigenous AI capabilities across healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance.
